Gypsy was the first main stage show that I stage managed at Westminster College. In this role I managed a cast of 1 lamb, 1 dog and 27 performers: 19 college students, 1 invited professional, and 7 young performers. I created the rehearsal schedule, ran rehearsals and production meetings, and conducted a two day technical rehearsal. During the run of the show I was also tasked with the job of playing all of the musical tracks ran off of the MTpit app.
During this show I learned so many valuable things. I learned how to coordinate a rehearsal schedule that had to be changed several times throughout the rehearsal period and how to be sure that everyone involved in the production was kept aware at all times of the changes. I learned of the process of dealing with plagiarized scenic designs and how to assist in the process of retrofitting designs so that they would no longer be plagiarizing someone else's work. I learned how to better help my cast communicate with directors and choreographers. I learned better how to conduct myself while interacting with cast, crew and production staff.
